Hello lovelies! I’m sat feeling very floaty and loved while writing this. Over the weekend my mum and I headed up to London to meet with my wonderful friends for a surprise hen do. Okay it wasn’t a surprise as they told me they were doing it but what the hen do would entail was a complete surprise.
These are the girls that I went to university with; we’ve known each other for 7(ish) years and I couldn’t love them anymore than I do. We can go (and often do) months without seeing each other; what with travels and living busy bee lives all over the country, but when we meet up it’s like we’re all living together again.
Of course it was wonderful to celebrate my upcoming wedding but it felt even more special that we were all celebrating big moments in our lives. We had another bride to be getting married this week; a mother to be, two new jobs and two new houses. What an exciting time for all of us and I’m so pleased that we can all share these times together!
So … onto the ‘do’. The girls met my mum and I off the train at Waterloo and after a buzz of cuddles and catch-ups we jumped on the tube and went to Green Park. It had such a chilled vibe with everyone relaxing in the sun and we sat down with a picnic blanket and pimms and just chatted. It was so nice and exactly what I wanted. I then got to open some gorgeous and thoughtful gifts; a phonebook filled with well wishes, ‘mrs’ lace thong with ‘something blue’ ribbon on the back, a happily ever after candle and wooden heart, bride to be champagne glass and some packets of love hearts.
All of the gifts were so thoughtful even down to the personalised ‘Jess’s Hen Do’ bag and ‘Mrs Avey to be’ balloon. After lots of catch-ups, we headed to The Avenue for a brunch. If you know me you’ll know how much I miss Dubai and brunches were a big part of my Dubai lifestyle so this was so exciting for me. While the process flowed I enjoyed a huge gourmet burger followed by waffles and ice cream – perfecto!
I had such a wonderful time and I’m so grateful to have such lovely friends that though about me so much 🙂
Here’s a little blog, it’s not long as I just wanted to spend the day enjoying the moments 🙂
