Injecting personality into my home with Desenio*

Living in a rented property it’s really frustrating wanting to turn my Pinterest home inspiration into a reality and not being able to do so. I literally cannot wait for the day when I can own my own home and have free reign to knock down walls and completely overhaul rooms; but for now it’s simple touches to make a house a home.

One thing that I love playing around with is artwork and although I want to save the real art for when I become a home owner, I love being able to buy stylish prints that not only look amazing and give a room character but are also extremely affordable!

I’ve recently collaborated with Desenio to share with you how I used some of their prints to spruce up a few corners of my home and I just love the spaces that I’ve created!

First up I picked these two typography prints ‘breathe’ and ‘kiss’. I wanted something very simple for my bedroom but also with a calming effect and I think these achieve just that. I actually put the wreathe up over Christmas time and I loved it so much that I’ve decided to keep it up all year round. It’s really simple and natural and I think adds to the calming vibe of the quotes.

I went with simple gold frames although white, or black would have looked lovely and sleek also!

Jaspers room

He already had one print up on his wall so I added to it with two more from Desenio; a fun Batman print reading ‘ Always be yourself, unless you can be Batman, then always be Batman’ – he adores it! I also got his star sign which I absolutely love! The colour contrast of the navy image and gold writing is stunning and to me it’s something sentimental. I’m going to get one for Jenson to go in his room as well as I think they’re prints that will go in their rooms at any age!

I’m a huge fan of pineapples and I kind of feel like the staircase is a place to have something completely irrelevant and quirky! I love how the gold frame goes with the greens of the pineapple crown and it’s just a happy go lucky print that always makes me smile when I pass it!

I also opted for similar shades in the downstairs bathroom going for a large botanical print. I annoyingly ordered the wrong size and it was too big to fit portrait way on the wall but instead of exchanging it for a smaller size I thought it looked quite cool horizontally!

The heart of the home, where passion meets fuel and the only place fitting for this quirky little print – ‘Oh crepe’; something I often mutter under my breathe when another piece of food is spilt on the floor!

Entry way

and finally as you enter my home you’re met with this cute yet meaningful quote ‘live simply’. I’ve been on a huge minimalistic mission the past year or so and these words mean so much to me. It’s a simple reminder every time that I enter and leave my home to appreciate the small things and not stress over the meaningless!

Desenio are definitely my go-to for prints; they have hundreds on their site to suit any room, taste and decor and they are so reasonably priced! If you’re looking to inject a bit of personality into your home without spending a fortune then definitely check them out; I even got some for friends as Christmas gifts last year and they were really well received!

As part of my collaboration you can use the code “JESSICAAVEY” which gives you 25% off posters, (except for “handpicked” posters and frames) from the 30th Jan-1st Feb!

I would love to know how you choose your prints for your home and where you get them from; and of course if you do use the code then please do let me know which prints you ordered as I love to have a little nosey!

Thanks for reading,
