I’m writing this from my parents house as we still don’t have our internet up and running; but I can finally say – we are in!
We moved into our new home on Monday and as Pete took the week off work we’ve spent it unpacking, decorating and exploring the area. Unpacking wise we still have a dozen boxes but those are the really annoying can’t go anywhere kind of boxes so I’m putting them off for as long as I can!
Decorating wise we are really lucky in that the owners repainted all of the walls in magnolia so that we had a clean slate. We want to decorate each room with a theme rather than just buying things because we need them or they look nice, and so far we’ve painted a couple of walls and bought some really cool pieces.
I will do a house tour *I promise* and show you guys all of the DIY projects we’ve been working on but at the moment I’m just trying to catch up with emails, get on top of my back log of blog posts and try and get to know my new neighbours!
The barns consist of 20 properties and so far we’ve met a lot of the neighbours. Where we have communal garden areas it’s been really easy to meet them and they’ve all been lovely. They’ve given us some great tips on local shops and pubs so we’ve been out exploring all of the cool farm shops and bespoke furniture stores (plus spending a far too many a penny!).
Fingers crossed next week will be semi back to normal, but for now we are one extremely happy and settled family loving country bumpkin life!
