Did I spend the night at a spa?

I’m writing this post at 6am with a rather large grin on my face. Rabbits been asleep since 5:30am and this makes me one happy muma. Not because he’d kept me up all night, no, because he’d already slept from 11-4:45am!

That may or may not seem like a big deal but that is the longest stretch of sleep he has ever had in his life and therefore the longest sleep I’ve had in 6 weeks! Probably longer than that considering I was a pretty restless pregnant sleeper!

Jasper’s always woken every 3 hours for feeds, and the past few days they became more frequent and less regular. I’m talking an hour sleep followed by 20 mins followed by (if I was lucky) 2 hours. During the day he’d go longer but at night he was a party animal, always on the hunt for the good stuff (boob).

Last night we went for dinner at our friends and he was really restless, he didn’t settle until 11pm and that was after a lot of inconsolable crying from a suspected tummy ache which led me to believe I’d be in for a long night!

Au contraire … Almost 6 hours later I woke to the little snuffler rising from his deepest sleep to date! Admittedly
He fed for 10 mins then was sick twice so it wasn’t the best of wake-ups but he got himself back off to sleep in his Moses basket (again something he’s never done) and I’m considering whether I’d be tempting fate by trying to get another little sleep in myself?

I think he must be having a growth spurt which is bitter sweet as I know my baby is growing so fast!

These small mummy moments are so precious they need to be taken full advantage of! If Jasper keeps this up I won’t need another massage, I feel like I’ve spent the day at the spa already!

Thanks for reading xxx

Aww, yes growth spurts are bittersweet. I remember the joy of those first long sleeps though, well done little one!
