Bring on beauty

This is a bit of a random post but I’ve decided I want to¬†incorporate more beauty posts on Lilypod and Sweetpea. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for the past few days as I’ve noticed that I’ve been gravitating a lot towards beauty blogs for tips and advice.

I’m not sure what form these posts will be in – reviews, ‘What’s on my face today?’ posts, ‘Looks I love’ posts, a tour of my makeup bag maybe? Perhaps even a vlog – something I’ve also been thinking about bringing to Lilypod and Sweetpea.

Now I don’t want this to be a beauty blog, I’ve added posts here and there on the natural beauty products I use such as honey and coconut oil but primarily I want this to be parenting and lifestyle … with a touch of crafts once I get my craft hat back on! However since becoming a mummy I’ve realised that quite frankly I look a mess. I know that shouldn’t matter as Jasper is still only days old but with the lack of time to brush my hair or do my nails, constant achy back, and sore boobs it’s quite tricky to feel fresh, let alone beautiful!

Feeling good in yourself makes such a different to how you approach everything so I really think if I try to spend a little more effort and time on me, I’ll be able to make a lot more of a positive effort on every other aspect of my life – primarily my family!

I’ve never been one for a full face, quite frankly because I hate taking ages to remove it, too much clogs my pores and because I never wear a lot, when I do – I look strange and don’t feel comfortable. I’ve always been happy with a thin layer of BB cream and a flick of mascara; however I know that there are all these techniques and tips that I’ve been missing that I’m sure could help me to get the most out of my products and features.

I’m going to stick to my guns and only relate beauty to my lifestyle -quick and easy tips and lots of organic and natural ingredients.

I recently won a gorgeous Crownbrush synth fan brush from Liza Prideauxs blog competition as well as received some lovely Ellovi natural products to review so I think they’ll be a great place to start.

Anyway bit of a rambly post but basically I’m going to look into how to incorporate beauty into my blog more while relating it to parenting and lifestyle. It might not be this week as I have a backlog of labour and Jasper related posts on top of a cuddly baby and mastitis, but we’ll see if it materialises over the next few days!

Thanks for reading
