As Jasper and Rhys have birthdays exactly two weeks apart we always throw a joint celebration the weekend in-between both of their special days. It just makes more sense to combine the two as they’re both so young still and especially as Rhys goes to preschool and toddler groups near his mums house so all of his friends in our area are Jaspers friends too.
For Rhys’s birthday we went to the farm, you can check out my blog post here with some lovely snaps of the day. Then for their joint celebration we threw a little indoor safari themed party, again you can find the blog post here with some lovely snaps!
For Jaspers we kept it quite low key. He woke up very happy as it was a Saturday morning and he knew his brother Rhys would be in his bed beside him! We stuck to a small selection of gifts as the boys got so much for Christmas and I knew he’d get a lot from family and friends.
I think he was most excited about his minion helium balloon and Paw Patrol wrapping paper but he did loves his presents too!
As you can see he got more activities than toys; things that will help him to sit down and focus as well as learn and develop. He got some lovely books, a threading kit, kinetic sand and a little Leapfrog laptop.
Rhys was determined to help him open his presents and couldn’t wait for jasper to hurry up and open the next one but little man was very content to open each one slowly and spend time playing with them which I loved!
No birthday would be complete without Skying family first thing and making them sing Happy Birthday!
We also decided to take the sides down of Jaspers cot; check out my associated blog post here to see how he’s been doing! It was really exciting for him and I made sure to get one last snap of him in his cot as my little baby before he turned into a big boy bed grown up!
Our blogging chum Sarah from This Mama Life had her daughter Islas birthday party on the Saturday as she was born the day after Jasper, so we took both boys there for a little children told play party – it was actually fab because Jasper got to be at party, surrounded by kids and cake and we didn’t have to organise a thing! (Thanks Sarah haha).
Then the following day we had a little bbq with all of our families. The sun was shining so we did a bbq and put out the bouncy castle and just relaxed with our nearest and dearest.
Well that’s how we celebrated the little mans birthday. He had a lovely time; to be honest as long as he’s with the people he loves he always does. The fact that the sun was shining and he had lots of lovely gifts and scruffy food was just a mega bonus!
Please do check out the boys safari birthday party and Rhys’s birthday celebration too and of course comment below; I do love hearing from you guys!
Thanks for reading!
