Spending the day running around after a hectic toddler, keeping on top of the house work and generally staying sane on a day to day basis seems so much more demanding during the Winter months. Of course the Christmas season brings so much excitement and joy but no amount of layering in cosy knitwear gets rid of the runny nose, numb fingers and stuffy head.
Once Japser is asleep and I’ve done my housework (aka repairing the damage from the toddler tornado that hits my home on a daily basis) all I want to do is relax, unwind and recoup. I get so tired and find it so much more difficult in the colder darker months to muster up the energy to do anything else.
It’s so important to take that time to let your body repair and to just switch off from the stresses of life; I’ve teamed up with ESPA to share with you my current favourite ways to relax this Winter.
A nice warm bubble bath. Relaxing and soothing ingredients like lily and violet petals make this TokyoMilk bubble bath one of my favourites for a mini home spa. Enjoy it with a bath pillow, the lights off, candlelight and a glass of wine – served by your hubby is a plus!
Soothing body wash – Aesop do this wonderful Geranium Leaf Body Cleanser which amazingly refreshes me in the morning but relaxes me so nicely in the evening.
Have a ‘Moment of Peace‘ with this ambient and romantic candle and body oil from Espa. With scents of Sandalwood, Ylang-ylang, Frankincense and Myrrh it’s virtually impossible not to drift off into a deep full night of slumber. Now getting Pete to give me a massage is a rare occasion but on said rare occasion, when the candle is lit, the relaxing spa music is on his phone and I’ve had a tiresome day with Jasper – it’s just heaven.
Of course you can still make the moshe body oil without have a masseuse on tap; give yourself a lovely arm and leg massage and rub some of the oil onto your chest so that you breathe it in as you sleep.
When all else fails and you don’t have time for pampering, pop on some snuggly socks and indulge in a delicious mug of hot chocolate.
How do you like to relax and unwind this Winter?
