vbaLast week I was lucky enough to be nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award by the lovely Becky over at The Laughing Owls. Since starting my blog I’ve had so many highs and being nominated for an award (no matter how small) definitely tops it!

Lilypod and Sweetpea is my pregnancy diary but I also rant about all things crafty, creative, beauty, fashion, health and, well just about anything that I find lovely and inspirational!  Really it’s  lifestyle blog and once Rabbit is here it’ll focus on parenting and babies too!

Anyway, how the Versatile Blogger Award works is as simple as this:

1 – Write 7 facts about yourself

2 – Nominate 7 other bloggers for the award

3 – In your post make sure to thank the person who nominated you

4 – Add the VBA logo to your post

First things first – Thank you so much Becky from The Laughing Owls for nominating me – it means a lot – you’re fab 🙂

Now for my facts:

1 – I’ve eaten spider, snake and a number of other creepy crawlies! – When in Beijing I had to do the touristy thing and of course that meant a trip to snack street! I was a bit of a wuss and just had a nibble of each, more for the picture but some of my friends actually ate the whole things!20140219-092953.jpg

2 – I’ve flown a helicopter – When me and my family went to Barbados to celebrate my brother and sister in laws wedding we all got the chance to earn our wings by flying around the island! I even got a nifty little certificate too!

3 – I walked part of the Great Wall of China – Only a small part but it was bloody freezing so even a few steps were a challenge!20140219-093144.jpg

4 – I lived in Dubai and China – Both places I moved to teach English (beauty of a TEFL certificate) and both very different lifestyles!20140219-093622.jpg

5 – I jumped out of a plane – For me and Pete’s 3rd date we did a skydive over the desert in Dubai! It was an amazing experience but when the parachute went up I felt really sick 🙁20140219-093931.jpg

6 – I moved fast – Even though me and Pete were friends for a while before, we only started dating in June 2013! We’re now living in the UK, engaged and have a bambino due in April!20140219-094445.jpg

7 – I have a DIY obsession – Every time I see something in a shop that I’d like, I consider whether I can make it instead. Of course I always decide that I can, and of course the majority of the time I realise that I can’t and end up buying it! I do however make an awesome DIY beer bottle vase that money can’t buy! haha

Now to nominate 7 other lovely versatile bloggers:

Hayleys Little Things

Aurora Dust

Unique & Chic

Kip Hakes

Bump to Baby

Having an baby and living at home

Brilliant list! I have been to that market in Beijing but even the sheep penis wasn’t enough to tempt me to eat! I have also walked on the Wall but it was 39C when I was there (because the temperature in Beijing never reaches 40C!)

Great post – I enjoyed reading it!

Haha ashamed to say I did try the donkey penis and monkey!

Oh god those summers, I was teaching kindergarden so had to be outside doing morning exercises with them and they all still had 5 layers of clothing on!
