It’s been a while since I’ve posted about what we’ve been up to; I seem to share a lot of snaps of our days on my instagram but my blog gets kind of neglected and as this is my diary for me and my boys to look back on in years to come – I want to make more of an effort to get back into it (how many times have you heard that before!?).

I’m not going to set myself another daily blogging challenge; even though I loved it and it actually gave my blog a real boost, but I am going to try my hardest to get posts up on those days when I feel like I have nothing to write. I always feel like posts need hours of planning, picture taking and editing but often the last minute short and snappy ones are the ones I love to read the most!

So here we are, half way through Autumn and oh my does it feel like it. The beginning of this season still felt like Summer with warm t-shirt weather and light evenings but it seems as if from nowhere the cool air has crept in and we’re now enveloped in late sunrises, early sunsets and a chill in the air that only a cable knit sweater and festive Costa coffee will fix!

I say this every Autumn but it really is my favourite time of year; I love Winter for Christmas and the faint promise of snow, I love Spring for the fresh flowers and of course my birthday and I love Summer for the heat; but chucking on some wellies, crunching through the leaves and cosying up with my boys and a hot chocolate is what I live for!

This Autumn is my first with my minimalist mentality and it’s made it so amazing because we have spent so much of it outdoors. Yes we’ve had the odd soft play date but the majority of our days have been spent with fresh air in our lungs and it’s been wonderful!

We don’t have many places within walking distance of our home but there are so many lovely spots a short drive away so after bundling up the kids in the car, coats, hats and wellies at the ready, we head to country parks for Autumnal fun.

Here are some snaps from our Autumn so far, from pumpkin picking and frosty fireworks to scrunchy leaved woodland walks and muddy park adventures. My boys love exploring and getting mucky while I love capturing their smiles and watching their little inquisitive faces as they learn about the outdoor world.

What have you been up to this Autumn?

Thanks for reading!
