I’ve seen these tags going around a lot recently in the land of blogging and I really enjoy reading them. I’ve kind of been thinking with Rhys being my soon to be step son, I don’t really qualify as a mummy yet, well not until Rabbit arrives anyway; but you know what, I do qualify! I’m not a sister figure to Rhys, or an Aunty or a friend, I’m a mummy figure.

Now I’m in no way saying I’m his mum. Rhys has a lovely mummy who thankfully has a great relationship with me, and I think this really helps me to feel more confident and comfortable in seeing Rhys as one of my own. He’s the love of my life’s son, and my little bumps older brother. When he’s here I play a big part in raising him. I feed him, dress him, teach him and most importantly love him so I’m going to vote that I qualify to write a mummy tag lol

(I may have to modify a couple of questions)

1 . Are you a stay at home mum or a working mum?

I’m lucky enough to not have to work at the moment. Coming back from Dubai at 3 months pregnant made it difficult to look for a full time job so I work on my freelance copywriting and my blog from home. Hopefully when Rhys and Rabbit are at nursery age I’ll go to work part time to get me out of the house!

2. Would you have it any other way?

Yes and No. Sometimes I feel a bit useless not working full time. I also feel guilty seeing Pete leave for work every morning and coming home tired knowing that I’ve been able to lounge about. Of course I don’t just lounge about, my nesting instincts won’t let me. I do work from home and I’m constantly prepping for Rabbits arrival.  Pete reminds me all the time that I should just relax and that now is my time to do what I want and enjoy myself before the sleepless nights and nappy changes, so I am trying to relax a bit more.

3. Do you co-sleep?

No, luckily before Rhys started spending the night, his mum got him into a routine of sleeping through the night in his own room. Both him and Rabbit have their own rooms here so hopefully it’ll stay that way. Ask me again in a couple of months and see how that’s changed haha

4. What is your one must-have item for your baby?

My pink fluffy dressing gown. Rhys won’t fall asleep unless I’m wearing it when I rock him to sleep. That’ll be one to tell his girlfriends!

5. How many children do you plan on having?

I’ve always said I’d like to have 3. I’m the youngest of 3 and love having a brother and a sister. It would be great for Rhys and Rabbit to have a younger sibling, but not for a long while yet!

6. Date night – How many nights per month?

We probably eat out once or twice a week at the moment – very lucky I know! But I’m sure once Rabbit is here it’ll be a different story!

7. Your child’s favourite show?

We don’t watch TV while Rhys is here, but occasionally I’ll put on the baby channel and Rhys will watch Paddington bear and Thomas the Tank Engine in the background while he’s playing.

8. Name one thing you bought before you had your baby and never ended up using

Where Rhys is only here 2 nights a week he grows out of things so quickly without using them. We have a lovely pair of shoes from GAP he’s never worn plus his walker and bouncy chair he never got much use out of. Luckily we can save them for Rabbit!

9. Your child’s favourite food?

Rhys eats anything and I mean anything. He really isn’t fussy at all. He does especially love those Goodies organic carrot sticks though! They make his face go orange lol

10. How many cars does your family have?

Two – Me and Pete have one each

11. Weight gain before, during and after pregnancy?

Ok I can’t comment on after but I started as 8 stone 5, I’m 34 weeks pregnant and am now 9 stone 2. Rabbit was 4 lbs 9oz according to last Fridays scan. So really I don’t think I’ve put on anything once you think about the fluids and placenta … YET!!

12. Dream holiday with your kids?

Me and Pete love to travel. There are so many places we’d like to go and I really want to expose the kids to different cultures. I’d love to take them to China and India but probably when they are a fair bit older 🙂

13. Dream holiday without your kids?

We both really want to go to Vegas! One of my best friends lives in LA so I’d love to take Pete there to show him around, I’ve visited a few times and loved it!

14. How has your life changed since having a baby?

Our priorities are completely different. In Dubai we would go to boat parties and brunches every week. Our money was ours to spend on clothes and whatever else we wanted. Now my whole life centres around Rabbit being healthy and happy in my belly! Pete works hard for me Rhys and Rabbit to have a great life and all I think about is our home and our family’s future.

15. Finish this sentence – ‘It makes my heart melt to see …’

Pete and Rhys together. Pete loves Rhys so much and I know it kills him to be away from him. Watching them play together makes me love him so much more and makes me feel so excited to see him with Rabbit. He’s a great dad.

16. Where do you shop for your kids?

I love H&M, GAP and Zara kids. We get a lot from Tescos and Asda too.

17. Favouite makeup and skincare products?

I’m a lover of all things natural. I use honey, jojoba oil and tea tree for my skincare routine. Makeup wise I really like Estee Lauders BB cream.

18. Huggies or Pampers?

We go with Pampers as it’s what Rhys has always worn. We’ll go with them for Rabbit too as long as they work well for him.

19. Have you always wanted kids?

Yes always! The timing plan was probably a little different, but this is  what I’ve always wanted.

20. Best part of being a mum?

Watching Rhys grow and knowing that we have it all to come again with Rabbit. Also I love knowing that we’ll have a tiny person to depend on us.

Thanks for reading! I look forward to reading more of yours 🙂
