It seems like only yesterday we unpacked into our cosy little cottage, eager to invite our friends to visit us in the holiday sea side village of Hamble – le rice; and ready to welcome our little bambino to his first home.
Well as if in an instant we are moving on. Although we love Purbrook cottage, the 2 minute walk to Hamble river, the little cobbled street filled with pubs, coffee shops and art galleries; we soon realised than we’d outgrow it.
It has so much character, the working fireplace and exposed beams being my favourites, but the cottage also falls short in its lack of storage, lack of parking and townhouse layout. Not to mention Pete is currently driving to Farnham everyday for work which means 2 hours of driving per day (I don’t envy him!).
So we have found a wonderful restored Barn in a little village called Privett. It’s 20 minutes from Petes work which will make a massive impact on our home life; it has ten times more storage, parking and a whole bunch of character – something I was desperately hoping for!
It is slightly further from our families, but with such a beautiful view, fields for the kids to play in and surrounding villages to explore, I’m sure they’ll make the journey!
Here are some snaps I took from Rightmove’s website:
I can’t wait to get in there now and get cracking on decorating our new home! If you know of any great home decor blogs then please please leave a link below! I’ll be in need of some inspiration! xx

22nd August 2014 at 7:52 pmHow beautiful!! We are in a modern build as it was the only thing we could afford to buy to get us on the ladder, but we desperately want to move into a propherty with more character and storage (storage in modern houses are dreadful!). All the bed for your move, can’t wait to read more 🙂 xxx

5th September 2014 at 8:52 amI’m sure you’ve given your home lots of character though 🙂 A home’s what you make of it; we’re lucky in that where we are renting we have more flexibility with the type of home we can have but we so want to get on the property ladder. I know once we buy we won’t have something as nice so we’re making the most of it now 🙂 Thanks xxx
