When I was pregnant with Jasper I didn’t buy many maternity clothes, I did one shopping haul on ASOS but for the most part I just lived in one size up leggings rolled under my belly and baggy tees which was my usual uniform anyway.
This was all well and good and of course saved a lot of money but this time around I really wanted to go all out on maternity style. There are such wonderful pieces out there and you no longer have to feel a frumpy muma-to-be, limited by maternity options.
I’ll be sharing some of my favourite pieces along the way and will probably put together a look book of my favourites but for now I wanted to share with you Isabella Oliver. If you search for maternity clothing on Google this is one of the first to pop up; it’s definitely a brand leading the maternity way and they have such gorgeous pieces for all occasions. With a focus on clever design, effortless outfitting, exceptional fit and luxury fabrics Isabella Oliver produce the most beautiful items for stylish mums-to-be including this Aubrey Print Summer Wrap Maternity Dress.
‘We’re a London-based brand of women (and mums) designing clothes you’ll LOVE through pregnancy and beyond. We know that as well as your body, your sense of self and style changes during pregnancy. So we design clothes that make you feel like YOU throughout the entire journey.’
Being a wrap dress it not only works perfectly for bumps of all size but would be perfectly fitting for breastfeeding your bambino once they arrive. The stretchy material makes it (in my opinion) flattering and forgiving in all of the right ways; whilst being comfortable and secure. The white and light blue of the floral print makes it a beautiful Spring piece while the black and dark blue gives it that air of versatility to wear with tights and a cardigan in cooler weather.
Isabella Oliver describe this piece as the definitely of the 18 hour dress and I totally agree; I wore it for a stroll along the port but would equally wear it with tights and a cardigan to London meetings, with pumps for a Summer park play date and dressed up with heels for a date night out with Pete.
