I rarely document our days out on here anymore; it’s all pregnancy updates and reviews which although I love doing, kind of takes away from why I started this little space on the internet.
I love making memories as a family; I adore seeing the boys learning, exploring and growing together and even though I do vlog our days out I’m determined to capture more of these memories in pictures on my blog.
We’ve had some lovely family days out lately, something that’s gotten more fun as the boys have grown older. Don’t get me wrong they’ve gotten harder too, but the boys are so interested in learning new skills and trying new activities that it’s just so wonderful to see them windswept, grass stained and covered in mud.
We’ll always choose to get outdoors, not only because it’s free to do but because it’s so much more stimulating for little ones to be out in nature than cooped up in soft play all day. The fresh air does them wonders, their imaginations can run wild and most importantly – a day of fresh air makes them sleep like little dreamers! Being pregnant it’s just what I need to get my bit of daily exercise and it’s good for mine and Petes minds and souls to just get outdoors and breathe.
Mamas and Papas have recently launched their interactive map full of iconic London parks; places to take your little ones for some great outdoors exploration; and I think that’s wonderful, not a list of indoor expensive places but good old spots of beauty. They’ve asked me to share some of my favourite local outdoor spots in Hampshire and without a doubt I knew my two favourites straight away.
One of our most treasured spots to go to is Victoria Country Park. If you live in Hampshire I’d highly recommend it as it’s such a beautiful setting and you can spend all day there without spending a penny. I’ve created a review for it here so I’ll just share some snaps of our recent trip there this weekend.
We also love to go further down the river to Hamble village. This was our first home, Jaspers first home most importantly and it’s such a special place in our hearts.
We took Pete there for Fathers Day and spent the day crabbing (the boys new favourite pastime) and eating ice creams.
Days like these are wonderful as the boys always want to venture far and wide but if you’re a parent you’ll know it’s getting back to the car that can be the nightmare. The boys are still so small and after a full day of burning energy they’re little legs get tired so we always take either the stroller, pushchair or a carrier and once bambini is here we’ll definitely be bringing a sling along.
Where are your favourite outdoor places to go as a family? Please do share them below, we’re always looking for new spots to go to explore!
Thanks for reading,
Jess x

5th July 2016 at 6:29 amYou look so beautiful in these photos…pregnancy definitely suits you! We don’t have any favourite places to take our daughter yet, she’s only 7 months old, but I can’t wait until she’s old enough to run around on the beach or at a farm xxx

6th July 2016 at 10:10 amIt’s so lovely when you find favourite spots and it happens so naturally; one day we just realised we’d been going to the same places for so long and not tiring of them 🙂

5th July 2016 at 6:50 amLovely suggestions. I hope to take my lb to these two although it is a bit of a drive so may wait until next summer when he is a little older. I loved the photos, especially of the crabbing and the play park 🙂
