I can’t even believe I’m writing this but Jaspy will turn 1 in a months time and I’ve been searching for some 1st birthday presents for him. He has so many lovely toys that I’m more interested in focusing on a few memorable and personalised gifts. I also know that friends and family will get him lots of fun things to play with so I can get away with the cute (boring for him) ideas that he’ll hopefully appreciate when he’s older.
Baby Clothes Blanket
From the minute I bought Jaspy’s first little ‘I love mum and dad’ jumper in Dubai I told myself I’d have a blanket made with all of my favourite items of his clothing. I planned to do it once he grew out of his newborn items (oh my goodness they were so tiny) but then I thought it would be nicer to collect them throughout his first year and give it to him on or soon after his 1st birthday.
I wish I could keep all of his teeny tiny vests and jumpers but I know that would be ridiculous so I’ve been sorting his clothes as and when into charity, friends babies, keep for next baby and make into blanket. I found a company online that makes them but I may search on Etsy for a slightly less expensive option … or even attempt it myself!

Personalised Rabbit
As Jaspy is and always will be my little Rabbit; I really want to get him a rabbit comforter with his name on. He has so many rabbit teddies but as I know when he’s older it’ll be a push to get him to keep even one, I’d like to make that one extra special! Petit-Bateau not only do personalised toy rabbits but also towels, vests, sleeping bags and vests!
Special Photoshoot
You all know I’m a lover of taking photos, especially of my scrummy bum Jaspy. I’ll definitely be doing a cake smash but I’d also like to do a chalkboard picture. I’ve seen so many fab ideas, writing babies favourites, their stats, memorable things about them; but this (below) is so simple yet cute!

Family Puzzle
I found this idea on Pinterest – Oh what a boring world it would be without it – and thought it was so brilliant! Not only is it a toy Jaspy can play with; and a developmental one at that; but it’s also personalised and made with love! The family puzzle can be filled with images of bambinos loved ones that will make them smile and help them to learn their names all in one go!
Well that’s all I’ve gotten so far. To be honest I think these may be quite time consuming so I won’t aim to get too much more but I’d love to hear your ideas! What did you get/ have planned to get your baby for their 1st birthday?
Thanks for reading!

18th March 2015 at 8:17 amI can’t believe he’s soon 1 already…it goes by so quick! Some great ideas, I was thinking of doing the same with some of Joey’s favourite clothes but instead of a blanket get it made into a beanbag toy. I think I’ll definitely have him do a Photoshoot aswell. I really love the shape toy with the pictures, such a great idea.

23rd March 2015 at 12:34 pmI am using @keepsakesfrommysewimgroom to make my little boys quilt, her prices are amazing, even for the biggest size they are just over £200. Everywhere else I looked they were £500+! You can find her on Instagram 🙂 x
