Why Jasper?

Jasper …

Why do you always manage to push me to the edge of the bed?

Why do you wake up just as I’m about to drift off to sleep?

Why do I keep forgetting to top up your nappy bag on the day you decide to do two poop explosions?

Why is my phone memory always full when you’re cracking the biggest smile!

Why don’t you understand when I tell you that you’re okay and don’t need to cry?

Why don’t you like to open your hands?

Why do I still find myself holding my hand on you to feel you breathing even though I can hear you?

Why do you have longer eyelashes than me? … It’s not fair!

Why aren’t you putting on weight as much as you were?

Why do you insist on coming off the bottle every three sips?

Why do you still not sleep through the night?

Why do you have the hair of an 80’s pop star?

Why do you grind your teeth?

Why do you insist on going down our steps head first? It’s clever but too daring for my nerves!

Why can I still not find your nail clippers?

Why do you pull my hair, put your fingers up my nose and bite my shoulder?

Why do you flirt with the ladies at the supermarket?

Why do you spit out every mouthful of food and put it back in your mouth?

Why do I already worry about the life you’re yet to lead?

Why does the look of your face make my heart melt?

Why has such a tiny little man had the power to bring such happiness to everyone he meets?

Why am I so lucky to have been given you?

I could go on forever Jaspy I really could, so many ‘whys’ and I’m sure a million more will pop into my head every day!

Thanks for reading

~J~

    This is so lovely, Jess.

Jasmine grinds her teeth too and it drives me bonkers – can’t stand the sound of it!!

It’s so annoying isn’t it1? I always try to put my finger in his mouth to stop him, I worry he’ll have no teeth left after it! Such little pickles! xx
