When it comes to buying baby and toddler equipment there are a few factors that I always look for; safety being number one and then comfort, practicality and price are joint second.

Of course style is great too but when you’re using something day in and day out it is so important to make sure that your child is going to be both safe and comfortable.

Longeivity is another factor that I’ve found achievable in things like cot beds and travel systems but until now in carseats I’ve always found that you either get one that takes you from baby to toddler or from toddler to child – never one that grows with your child.

Well, we’ve recently been trying out the Graco Milestone all-in-one car seat and I am so excited to have found a carseat that takes you from birth all the way to 12 years or 36kg/ 135cm (whichever comes first). It is literally the only carseat that you will ever need and I’m only sad that I didn’t know about it when both of mine were first born!

Stages

1 – Birth to 13kg – Rear facing harnessed infant car seat with plush inserts and two options of recline which are indicated in blue on the seat.

2 – 9 to 18kg – Forward facing 5 point harness seat with one option of recline indicated in red on the seat.

3 – 15 to 36kg – High-back booster seat again with only one option of recline position indicated in red on the seat. For this option you can safely store the harness in the back of the seat and use your cars 3 point seat belt to secure it.

Setup and Installation
As always it was a straight out of the box job with Graco; there was minimal packaging and nothing to screw on or attach.
The carseat is installed via 3 point seatbelt, it’s as simple as threading the seatbelt through the gap in the back of the seat, clicking it in and ensuring the chest part of the strap is secure in the red clip with no give.
Safety
The carseat has side impact protection which is really thick and it also features a durable steel reinforced frame fitted into the seat for added peace of mind.
It also has a handy rear and forward facing belt lock off guide to let you know that the seat is fitted safely at all times.
The seat has a 5 point harness but one of the easy to use ones that doesn’t require looping the shoulder and waist straps together before clicking them in!
It also has 3 optional positions for the crotch strap so that it grows with your child.
Ease of use
The seat features a one hand 10 position headrest adjustment and with it’s no re-thread harness system you’re not only adjusting the headrest height but the harness automatically at the same time!
There is also a one hand recline button to take your child to four different levels of recline with ease.
Features
Removable cup holder which can be placed on either side
Rubberised armrests for comfort and grip
Velcro removable shoulder pads – great for mucky toddlers like mine!
Machine washable seat pad which can removed without removing the harness – again perfect for mucky toddlers or dreaded car sickness!
Positives
This is the only carseat you’ll ever need
The one hand adjustments are life savers for a mum juggling a million things at once
The cupholder is a firm favourite for Jasper to store his juice and Kinder eggs!
Negatives
Where the carseat is does not have the Isofix feature you can’t use it as part of a travel system or carry it inside if you’re little one is asleep.

Overall I absolutely love the Graco Milestone all in one carseat; it is an investment piece (if you can even call it that at only £149 and the only carseat you will need to purchase for you little one. I will definitely be getting a matching one for Jenson to see him from forward facing right through to the booster stage!

The Milestone is available at Mothercare, Babies R Us, Amazon, Halfords and many more stores so definitely pop down to a store and try it out if you’re looking in the market for a carseat!

Thanks for reading,
