Getting my cooking mojo back

I love to cook and I’m always on the hunt for new recipes and dishes to keep dinnertime from becoming mundane. I’ll admit I went through a phase when dinner seemed to always be chicken and veg but now I branch out to pork fillets, steak, spag bol an chicken and chorizo skewers.

One thing I do want to get better at is cooking with a bit of spice. In our old house we were less than a minutes walk from the local curry house. Pete loves a curry and he practically lived there!

In our new house though, we’re probably more like a 15 minute drive from one so it’s up to me to get a bit more creative in the kitchen.

I cook a mean red and green thai curry but that’s where my creativity stops. Without wanting to go for a standard curry, I’ve been searching for some alternative recipes and I came across this British classic with an Asian twist that I really want to try – Keema (lamb mince) Shepherds Pie.

Oh and you might recognise that bloomin lovely lady as X-Factor’s Stacey Solomon. I absolutely love her, her goofy demeanour is just so natural and down to earth and it’s fab to see her talking about family life and everyday mum things!

I’m going to be trying this recipe later this week as it looks really quick and easy. I know in cooking demonstrations like this they have all of the ingredients prepped and I might try to do this during the day while Jaspy naps so that it’s easier when it comes to cooking time. My aunty actually gave me a cute little bowl that I could use to put the prepped ingredients in and I’ve seem some nice ramekins I might buy too – any excuse to get shopping haha
