I decided to get a bit crafty today. My mum is a pro card maker and she gave me lots of lovely crafty bits a while ago that i’m ashamed to say I’ve hardly even looked at. I wanted to make my Christmas cards a little bit different and funky so I started using some nails that Pete’s dad left here when he fixed our window, and some push through studs to be a bit edgy …
I saw this next idea on a Christmas Pinterest board but they had used buttons to look more like traditional ball balls. I had these great stick on gems that I look would give the cards a bit of glam!
Mum put these lovely paper leaves in her craft donations and I thought they’d look cute as a Christmas tree impersonation … what do you think?
This idea was taken from … yep you guessed it, Pinterest. I saw a makeshift Christmas tree that someone had made out of large sticks and stuck in this same formation on their wall (great for not taking up loads of space!). I had some cool pieces of ‘funny fibres’ that I think give a kind of unique look.
Ok so you have to have a bit of tradition in there too, I got used some silver studs to keep the edginess and added the shiny colourful gems to make it look all prettyful! Excuse the drawing, it’s not my strongest point!
This one was kind of an accident, I actually picked the leaves up thinking they were antlers, then realised they were leaves but it works right!? The red nose is a push through stud too!
So those are my crafty Christmas cards, a bit of effort, a few cups of tea but a lot of fun! I’ve been working on some other Christmassy bits and bobs that i’ll add on shortly.
I hope you like them 🙂
