If you’re a blogger, or follow a few bloggers then I’m sure you’ll have seen the abundance of them heading over to Bluestone in Wales. When I first saw all of the tweets and pictures popping up on Instagram I considered applying but then my good friend Sarah from Knott, Bump and Us told me that she’d applied and had an 8 bed lodge ready and waiting for guests!
As her family live far away and her partner Rob was working, she invited me, Jaspy, Rom (Beauty, Bump and Me) and her little boy Max; and Donna (The London Mum) with her little boy William. Of course I jumped at the chance, as I’m sure Jaspy would have done if he’d understood! Myself, Sarah and the bambino’s headed down Monday afternoon; and then Rom and Max will hopefully be joining us tomorrow as they moved house over the weekend. Donna won’t be coming as she’s going later with her family *sob sob*.
The drive took about 4 hours plus a few pitstops for food shopping, fuel and of course – Starbucks! It went pretty smoothly apart from Sarah leaving her phone at the checkout, going through a snowstorm and Jaspy being really sick. Luckily he threw up as we were pulling into the service station so I could jump out like the panicky mum that I am to his rescue; but he then decided to throw up after his and Isla’s bath (cutest thing to watch ever!); and then in the middle of the night – all over him, me and my bed!
So Monday was kind of a write off; we didn’t end up sitting down to dinner until gone 9pm but went to bed ready to start our mini stay-cation in the morning; and wow what I woke up to (minus the sick sheets) was stunning!
A snow dusted Bluestone. The picture doesn’t d it justice but it really is so beautiful here!
We spent our first day going for a walk and taking the kiddies to the most amazing circus themed soft play. I didn’t get any pictures as I left my DSLR at the lodge but I’ll be taking it out with me the next few days.
Tomorrow we have messy play followed by a trip to the spa while the kiddies go into the creche! Rom and Max will be arriving in the evening and then on Thursday we’ll have sensory play and maybe swimming!
The next update will have lots more info and pictures but here are a few snaps I’ve taken that I love:
Excuse the photo dump; we’ve taken so many cute ones of the kiddies I thought it best to split my post to show you guys as many as possible!
We’re having a really lovely time so far; it’s great to get some fresh air and really focus on relaxing with the babies away from all the hustle and bustle of normality! Well I’m back to enjoying a bag of Maltesers with Sarah – oh the rock and roll lifestyle we lead!
